CBC: Local Colombian dance group up for national award
CBC recently interviewed our Colombian folkloric dance group, Ballet Esmeraldas de Colombia, highlighting how for more than 40 years we’ve been bringing the energy, colour and traditions of Colombian culture to Ottawa through dance. The feature focused on our nomination for a Canadian Latin Award, as well as the strong sense of community that connects dancers of all ages — from children to seniors.
Through performances, free classes and cultural events, our group continues to celebrate Colombian heritage while building bridges between cultures in Canada.
